Dogecoin can't be staked. Doge culture can.

Proof-of-work has no staking function — there is nothing to bond, nothing to delegate and no yield to earn. Robinhood's CEO Vlad Tenev has made the point publicly, and it is simply true of the protocol. So Doge Stake puts the missing layer somewhere it can actually exist: as contracts on Robinhood Chain, the company's own Arbitrum L2. Launch a meme coin, stake it, and earn sDoge emissions, a pro-rata share of protocol fees in ETH, and airdrop points.

What a staked position earns
Three streams, all settled by the same vault on every touch.
sDoge emissions

A fixed protocol-wide rate per second, split between pools by allocation point and inside a pool by your share of the stake.

Protocol fees in ETH

Launch fees and any revenue sent to the vault are indexed per allocation point, then per share. Claimable as real ETH.

Airdrop points

Token-seconds staked, accrued on chain. Claiming rewards never resets them.

This is application-layer staking, not consensus staking. Your stake does not secure a chain and does not mint DOGE. Rewards come from sDoge emissions and protocol revenue, and both are capped by what the contracts hold.

The insight

Why Dogecoin cannot be staked

Staking is a consensus mechanism, not a product feature. A chain either bonds capital to produce blocks or it does not, and Dogecoin does not.

Proof-of-work
Dogecoin blocks are produced by miners spending electricity on Scrypt hashing, merge-mined with Litecoin. Security comes from hardware and energy. There is no bonding, no validator set and no staking function in the protocol — so there is no native yield for a holder to earn, at any size.
Proof-of-stake
Ethereum and its peers pay for security with bonded capital: lock coins, propose and attest blocks, earn issuance, risk slashing. Yield exists because the stake performs work. That is what “staking rewards” means when an exchange offers them on ETH or SOL.
What Doge Stake does
It does not pretend to stake Dogecoin. It gives Doge-culture tokens on Robinhood Chain the thing they were missing: an on-chain reason to hold rather than flip. Emissions are paid in sDoge, revenue is paid in ETH, and both are enforced by contracts you can read.
The observation that started this: Dogecoin is proof-of-work, so you cannot stake it — a point Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev has made in public discussion of what Robinhood can and cannot offer on DOGE. The gap is real. The fix has to live at the application layer, on a chain that supports contracts.
How it works

Three steps, all on chain

Every step is a single transaction against a contract in this repository. Nothing is custodial and there is no off-chain queue.

  1. 1Launch or bring a token
The factory deploys a fixed-supply ERC20, mints the whole supply to you, charges a small ETH launch fee and lists the token as a staking pool in the same transaction. No presale, no mint function, no owner keys on the token.
  2. 2Stake into the vault
Approve the vault, then stake. From that block your position earns sDoge at the pool's rate, starts collecting a share of ETH fees, and begins accruing airdrop points. There is no lock-up.
  3. 3Claim, or keep compounding
Claim sDoge and your ETH fee share whenever you want; both are settled into your balance on every interaction, so nothing is forfeited. Exit fees paid by leavers auto-compound into the stake of everyone who stayed.
Pools

Where the emissions are going

Allocation points decide each pool's share of the protocol-wide sDoge rate and of every ETH fee that arrives. A small pool with a large weight is the highest yield per token — and the thinnest liquidity.

Mechanics

What the contracts actually do

Four behaviours are worth understanding before you stake. All four are tested in the Foundry suite that ships with this repo.

Emissions are non-retroactive
The vault keeps a global reward index in sDoge per allocation point. Changing the rate, adding a pool or re-weighting one settles the index first, so nobody's already-earned sDoge is diluted after the fact.
Fee shares are earned, not airdropped
ETH arriving at the vault is indexed at that moment. Stake after a fee lands and you get none of it; a pool with zero stake parks its slice in orphanedFees, which can be recycled to active pools.
Nothing is forfeited
Every stake, unstake, claim or harvest settles what you have earned into a claimable bucket before touching your debt checkpoints. Staking again mid-stream cannot cost you accrued rewards.
Leavers pay the stayers
Unstaking charges an exit fee in the staked token, capped at 5%, which is spread across the remaining stakers and auto-compounds into their position. The last staker out pays nothing, because there is nobody left to pay.

How stakedoge happened

The announcement thread: why doge could never be staked, the gap on Robinhood Chain, and what we shipped to close it.

  1. The idea

4 years ago @vladtenev said doge can't be staked, and that this was a major design flaw to him.

  2. The idea cont.

So today, via forking @ponsdotfamily, we built stakedoge: the first protocol that lets you stake your tokens to earn $sDOGE, and deploy tokens that are auto staked the moment they exist.

  3. The gap in the market

Robinhood Chain is still in its "development phase". that's the phase where the tech coins come out, like $PONS, because they provide critical infrastructure.

  4. The gap in the market cont.

and right now there is no way for users on Robinhood to stake their tokens, while competitors like @solana and @base let their users do it all day.

    We fixed that today.

  5. The product

Staking via multi pool emissions: stake any supported meme coin and $sDOGE streams to you per second.

each pool has allocation points, so emissions split across pools by weight. rewards mint into the vault as they accrue, so payouts are always solvent.

  6. The fee share

Most "staking" protocols just print more of their own token. ours pays you ETH.

every fee that enters the vault splits across pools by allocation points, then across a pool's stakers by share. real revenue, not more inflation.

  7. Airdrop points

Points accrue as token seconds staked, and they weight future airdrops.

time weighted on purpose: the early and the patient rank above whoever shows up the day before the snapshot.

  8. Exit fees

Unstaking charges a fee in the staked token, hard capped at 5%, and it goes to the stakers who stayed.

it auto compounds into their position on their next interaction. last staker out has it waived, so nothing gets stranded.

  9. The launchpad

createToken(name, symbol, supply, imageURI, description) deploys a fixed supply ERC-20. whole supply to the creator, no mint function, no owner, no hidden tax.

it's auto listed as a staking pool in the same tx, and the ETH launch fee goes straight to stakers.

  10. Why Robinhood Chain

It's a real Arbitrum stack L2, built by Robinhood, live on Ethereum. chain id 4663, ETH for gas, Ethereum blobs for data availability.

cheap blockspace, real settlement. exactly what meme coins and per second accounting need.

  11. What's next

Contracts are written and tested, not deployed yet, so the site runs in clearly labeled demo mode. no fake addresses, no invented APR.

next: contracts live on Robinhood Chain, more pools listing, and the first airdrop snapshot driven by points.

  12. Doge can be staked

4 years late, but doge can be staked.

stake it, launch on it, earn ETH from it. hard capped $sDOGE supply, a minter permission that can only ever be set once, no proxy and no upgrade path.

    stakedoge. let's get it.

Pick a pool, or start your own

Staking is one approval and one transaction, with no lock-up. Launching is one transaction and a launch fee that goes straight to stakers rather than to a treasury. Read the risk section first — meme coins go to zero, emissions dilute, and this code is unaudited.
